Activity continues as usual on Kilauea’s 61G flow extending from the Pu’u ‘O’o vent to the ocean entry at Kamokuna. The coup de grâce this morning was a huge tumulus outbreak just above the Pali that send two steams of lava rolling down a thirty foot cone. We spent so much time shooting this spectacular outbreak, we were never able to investigate either the coastal flats or the ocean entry… What a flow! Another outstanding lava overflight with Paradise Helicopters’ pilot Robert Mitchell… Leilani, Scottish Ducky, Special Guest Karl Seidl, Bruce Omori and I had magnificent views this morning! We continue working on our new “VolcanoScapes” series entitled “Hot Seat Hawaii!” Stay tuned for exciting well-known guests, engaging visits with interesting Big Island personalities… and of course, as always, the best Kilauea Volcano aerial lava video anywhere! Coming soon! You never know who might show up in “the hot seat” next! #HotSeatHawaii
