**Q&A with Paradise Helicopter Pilot, Ryan Moeller: **

Where are you from? I was born and raised here in beautiful Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawai’i.

What is your favorite tour to fly and why? There are so many incredible things to see from the air on Big Island. The Kohala valleys & waterfalls are always amazing.

Why did you choose to become a pilot? What got you interested in flying? I have always had a huge drive to “see what’s over the next ridge,” and being a pilot allows me to do this as well as further my explorations. Plus I get to share my love for this special place that I call home with others.

What do you do for fun (besides working)? I am a Hawaiian culture enthusiast and I have extensive knowledge of local flora and fauna. My free time is spent mostly outdoors as I am very much a mountain and water man. There isn’t much on this big, beautiful island that I have not seen.

What’s your favorite place to eat in Hawai’i? Locally we love Napua at the Mauna Lani – it’s our go-to spot. They just have great service and food.

What’s your background in flight experience? Where did you get the bulk of your hours? I have over 10 years of flying experience, 5 of which were spent flying in the Western US. The other 5 years of flying have been spent here in the islands. I have 6000 (and counting) helicopter flight hours.
